Sir Hans Rausing
Hans established the Trust to realise his philanthropic aims and to make grants in memory of his late wife Julia. As Founder Trustee and with over 30 years’ experience of philanthropic giving via a variety of Trust funds, he plays a crucial role in setting the Trust’s strategic direction.

In June 2025, Hans was honoured with a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours List for services to the Arts.

Lavinia Verney
As the late Julia Rausing’s sister, Lavinia brings to the Trust a deep understanding of Julia’s philanthropic aims, to help deliver the founding vision of extending Julia’s philanthropy and honouring her memory through the Trust.

She also brings experience of grant-making through her prior management of grants in Gloucestershire for the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust.

Nick Kelsey
Nick is a qualified accountant with over 40 years’ experience, including as Partner for global accountancy firm Saffery LLP. He has experience of working with and auditing charities and brings high level financial skills to the board.

John Booth CVO DL
John is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who chairs several public and private companies and serves as a non-executive director of several investment management businesses and has venture capital interests in e-commerce, media and telecommunications.

He chairs The National Gallery and The Royal Drawing School and is a trustee of the Chatsworth Settlement and the Arts Foundation, and an ambassador for the homelessness charity Depaul International. He is Vice President and former Chair of The King’s Trust.
