The Julia Rausing Trust is pleased to mark the opening of the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration following a £250,000 grant towards its refurbishment.

The new Centre will form a permanent public arts space dedicated to championing illustration in all its forms.

Located in Clerkenwell, within an 18th Century waterworks, it brings together galleries, a free illustration library, gardens, a café and a shop to create a destination where visitors can discover and engage with the art of illustration.

Through a dynamic programme of exhibitions and tours, the Centre will explore the ways that illustration shapes our world; through creative projects with schools, community groups and illustrators, it will promote visual literacy and empower people of all ages to share stories and ideas.

The Julia Rausing Trust is proud to have supported the refurbishment of this new space and looks forward to seeing how the Centre develops.
