Sir Hans Rausing honoured with knighthood at Windsor Castle

Sir Hans Rausing, the British philanthropist, was today made a Knight Bachelor at an investiture ceremony hosted by HRH King Charles at Windsor Castle. Sir Hans Rausing was honoured with a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours List in June 2025 for services to the Arts.

Commenting on the knighthood Sir Hans said, “I am immensely proud to receive this prestigious honour. This recognition would have meant a great deal to my late wife, Julia, whose vision led to the creation of our charitable trust in 2014.”

Hans Rausing is one of the UK’s foremost philanthropists, having given over £500m to over 2000 organisations across the country. In 2014, he co-founded the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust with his late wife, Julia Delves Broughton. In 2024, the trust was renamed the Julia Rausing Trust to honour the memory of his late wife. The new Trust has doubled its annual giving to £100m across the UK.
