Trust name to live on through re-naming of sister trust
The Julia Rausing Trust was launched by Hans Rausing in July 2024 in order to make memorial donations in honour of his late wife, Julia Rausing.
It has now been announced that from 2025, the Trust will be brought together with its sister trust, the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust. The combined trust will be known as the Julia Rausing Trust. Hans has chosen to continue his giving solely under his late wife’s name in order to honour her memory and build on her philanthropic legacy.
Hans has pledged ongoing annual giving through the Julia Rausing Trust of £100m, which doubles the average amount given under the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust, meaning more funding will be available for UK charities. The increased funding comes at a time when opportunities for charities have been diminished through a number of other funding streams pausing or closing due to overwhelming demand or strategic review.
